When is the fourth SEISS grant available? Self employed given major Budget boost

However, not everyone who was not eligible for the first three grants will benefit from the changes announced by the Chancellor.

Ceri Stoner, Partner at Wiggin LLP, told Express.co.uk: “It’s important that Government support continues for so long as needed for all those who are dependent on it.

“In addition, there remain significant groups ‘out in the cold’. These include many self-employed people who have ‘gone limited’, trading via personal service companies.

“The majority of these people are directors of their companies and therefore technically employees.

“As such, they do not benefit from SEISS and often cannot claim material sums under the furlough scheme either (since they are generally paid minimal salaries). To date, their calls for government support remain unanswered.”
