TEAM NEWS

Gareth Bale could make his first Tottenham appearance in seven years after returning on loan from Real Madrid, but Said Benrahma is unavailable for West Ham after signing on a loan deal with an obligation to buy the attacker from Brentford on Friday evening.

Carlos Vinicius is set to start on the bench for the hosts, who could be without Eric Dier with Giovani Lo Celso and Japhet Tanganga already missing.

With David Moyes back in the West Ham dugout after recovering from COVID-19, defender Issa Diop will also be back after a 10-day isolation.

Ryan Fredericks and Arthur Masuaku should be passed fit to feature for the Hammers.

MATCH PREVIEW

Spurs boss Jose Mourinho expects a tough test from the Hammers this afternoon, insisting: “The game against Arsenal was, in my opinion, a great performance with a very unfair result and they built from that game.

“Then they had impressive performances with good results, clean sheets and defensive stability but with the threat. They are very dangerous on the counter attack, they are very dangerous at set pieces.

“They have very powerful people in this moment of the game, the offensive set pieces, and they are defending with a back line of five and four in front, leaving Antonio up front. If they follow the same direction it is a really difficult opponent.”

While West Ham manager David Moyes said: “I think we’re concentrating quite a lot on us, how we are and what we can do, rather than on what Spurs can do.

“I understand the abilities Gareth Bale has got and what he can do, but it would be wrong to think about him and not about Harry Kane or [Heung-min] Son the way they’re playing at the moment, because they’re on fire.

“The goals they’ve been scoring have been incredibly good so we’ll need to make sure we defend well, but we also need to make sure we punish them like we have done against the likes of Wolves and Leicester.”
