Ranvir, 43, is wowing BBC audiences with her dazzling performances with professional dance partner Giovanni Pernice, 30. But the Good Morning Britain presenter revealed that rehearsals for the show are “horrific – like labour”.
She told the latest Prima magazine: “You really want it, and you talk to loads of people who’ve done it before, and they tell you it’s painful but it’s all worth it.
“Then you go into ‘labour’ and you realise it’s horrific.
“You’re in the throes of actual pain and you have to push this dance out at the end of the week. You can’t turn around and go back – you have to keep going.
“But when you get to the end, there’s this beautiful dance and everybody’s happy. You cry, there’s blood, you sweat…I’m not even joking, it’s actually like childbirth.”
Ranvir, who has a son, recently revealed during a discussion about reading partners’ text messages that she and her husband Ranjeet Singh Dehal had split.
She said: “If you ever feel you need to do that, then the relationship is over because you obviously don’t trust that person.”
And asked if she had discovered anything on her husband’s phone, she replied: “I found something that needed addressing.”
Revealing to Prima what her most important relationship was, she said: “Will there ever be any room for another person with my son and I?
“We have a dog now, too! We got him in lockdown – he’s a little cockapoo called Shmizzels.
“He’s so cute and needy, the poor little thing. I love him and I can’t imagine life without him.
“I love my life. My son is healthy and I’m doing something I love. I’m so lucky.”
