Police release image of woman they are searching for after baby was abandoned in park

West Midlands Police has released an e-fit of a woman they are keen to speak to as part of the ongoing hunt for baby George’s mother. George was discovered by a dog walker in a park known as The Mound, in King’s Norton, Birmingham at 5.40pm on April 22. George was just hours old when he was found and dressed in an orange and white stripey ‘Dino Dude’ tee-shirt from Matalan, grey trousers and was wrapped in a grey and white zig zag pattern blanket.

Despite an urgent appeal and a number of leads, George’s mum still has not been located.

The woman has been described as white, around 5ft 6ins tall and of medium/large build.

She was wearing a light grey zipped hoodie and jogging bottoms. Her hair may have been in a low ponytail at the time.

The computer generated image was created by experts at Thames Valley Police and was put together after officers spoke to a key witness.

“We simply want to find you so we can talk to you, check you are okay, and offer any help or support you may need.

“If anyone recognises this woman, or thinks they know who George’s mother is, please do get in touch. You can do so in complete confidence if you would prefer.

“We have had a good response to our earlier appeals and I thank everyone who has contact us so far.

“If you know anything – no matter how small or insignificant it may seem – please get in touch.”

Officers have been handing out leaflets which includes the image in the local area, encouraging anyone who recognises the woman to get in touch.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police via live chat on the force’s website or by calling 101, quoting log 3476 of April 22.
