Man Utd might have ideal Jadon Sancho alternative ahead of summer transfer window

Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho is set to become the centre of another transfer saga ahead of the summer window. Manchester United will target the England international and are confident over landing him compared to last year. But there is one player who could prove an ideal alternative.

United might have the perfect replacement player to Sancho if they miss out on the Borussia Dortmund star yet again.

And he is already on the books at Old Trafford.

Multiple reports have insisted that the Red Devils will launch another attempt to land Sancho this summer.

After failing to sign him last year, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has not forgot about the winger – who has had another fine campaign despite a rocky start.

Though the 21-year-old has not scored as many or set up his team-mates like he did last year, despite a number of injuries, he has performed well.

Dortmund have reportedly reduced Sancho’s price from £109m to around £80m, giving United even more confidence over a potential agreement this year.

But if a move does not go through for any reason, Solskjaer should not be too disheartened with one player a potential alternative.

Shola Shoretire has wowed youth coaches at United for a number of years now and is well-thought of.

Many believe he can go on to become the next big export from the club’s academy, following in the footsteps of recent stars Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood.

Operating on the right-wing, Shoretire could provide an answer to a position Solskjaer has been desperate to solve.

In the Premier League 2, the 17-year-old has scored 10 and assisted five in 20 matches.

Despite his young age, he has already made two appearances for the Red Devils’ first team – albeit for a handful of minutes – but the fact he was used emphasises the development he has already undergone.

No one is expecting a teenager to come and drop performances worthy of a starting spot every week at this stage of his career.

But a club that has a strong link with their academy such as United cannot ignore the fact that Shoretire looks a star in the making – and missing out on Sancho could be the perfect chance for the youngster.
