Kate Middleton's local pub landlord shares awkward moment with Queen 'Sorry ma'am!'

A local pub landlord was forced to apologise to the Queen after making a mistake during Kate and Prince William’s royal wedding. John Haley, the owner of The Old Boot Inn in the village where the Duchess of Cambridge grew up, had been speaking to ITV’s Lorraine about the upcoming 10-year anniversary. Mr Haley, who was invited to the Westminster Abbey ceremony, said he got into trouble with the Queen.

The landlord described the moment when he watched Kate and William walk down the aisle.

However, he noticed that he was the only person looking in that direction.

When he turned around, he realised the Queen was right in front of him and “staring right” at him because he was facing the wrong way.

He said “sorry ma’am” and described the moment as “funny”.
