Eamonn Holmes teases major news that's 'so good' it made him briefly forget chronic pain

This Morning host Eamonn Holmes, 61, shared his excitement with fans on social media as he announced he has some big news to tell them later on today’s ITV show. The presenter hoped that they would be happy for him because the new venture has left him “over the moon”, and even gave him a little light relief from his chronic pain condition.

Taking to all social media channels, he wondered if fans could keep it a secret as he teased the pending news about his future.

He began: “Can u keep a secret?”(sic)

“Got something to tell u at 11 am on Wednesday’s #ThisMorning.(sic)

“I hope you will be happy for me because I am over the moon.”

He added: “It’s even, for the moment, made me forget my #ChronicPain – yes it’s that good.”

Without saying anything else, the trickle of information caused a frenzy among fans, who took to the comments section to share their guesses as to what Eamonn’s big news could be.

“Hopefully you & Ruth are coming back for the Friday shows,” one said, referring to ITV’s decision to remove him and Ruth Langsford as weekly presenters.

Someone else wondered: “You’re taking over from Piers Morgan on GMB!?”

“Are you the next talented journalist to join the wonderful line-up on @GBNEWS?” one asked.

The new 24-hour news channel boats an all-star on-air line up, with the likes of Kirsty Gallacher, Simon McCoy and Alastair Stewart all moving over.

Andrew Neil, chairman and ex-BBC presenter, has said GB News will target “the vast number of British people who feel under served and unheard by their media.”

So could this be Eamonn’s big news? Have fans already worked it out?

Many hoped he was moving on to bigger and better things and since he began to suffer badly with his chronic pain condition, the ITV host appears to needs a little pick me up!

Teasing the big announcement comes after he had to seek professional advice and an MRI scan to get to the bottom of what’s causing his excruciating pain earlier this month.

He has been attending lengthy physio appointments and having cold showers among other things to try and remedy his painful situation, as he jokingly noted “all this will either kill me or cure me.”

Tune into This Morning from 10am on ITV.
