Comedian and actor Carl Reiner has died aged 98. According to TMZ, the star died at his Beverly Hills surrounded by his family yesterday.
Hs assistant Judy Nagy told Variety he died from natural causes.
Carl is best known for creating, producing and starring in The Dick Van Dyke Show. He played the role of comedian Alan Brady.
The series ran for five years from 1961.
Carl will also be remembered by fans for starring in the likes of It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, World, The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming and in the Ocean’s film series.
The actor’s most popular films as a director include 1977’s Oh God!, The Jerk in 1979 and All of Me in 1984.
During his lengthy career, he received nine Emmy Awards.
