The Prime Minister said the UK is on course to ditch the 1-metre plus social distancing rule in June.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Monday insisted there is a “good chance” the rule will no longer apply as the UK continues to push on with coronavirus vaccinations at speed.
Speaking during a local election campaign visit to the north of England, Mr Johnson said: “I think we’ve got a good chance, a good chance, of being able to dispense with one-metre plus.”
The was first introduced as one of the earliest measures to curb the number of Covid infections at the height of the pandemic last year.
