Former Loose Women presenter Andrea McLean, 51, shared her worries about her weight, after revealing that she has embarked on a healthy eating regime since it was announced that lockdown restrictions would be gradually lifted over the coming months. However, despite the star having good intentions, she joked that her healthy eating plans have been sabotaged by her mother, who gifted her huge amounts of chocolate as an Easter treat.
Addressing her 296,000 Instagram followers today, the TV presenter revealed that she had a confession to make.
She said: “I want to share something with you, tell me what you think”, before moving out of sight of the camera.
Andrea returned and continued: “Right, I am on a bit of a health thing at the moment, because when they announced that lockdown was ending I thought, ‘Oh my god, people have only seen me from here up.'”
The TV star went on to gesture to the top of her head and chest.

The ITV Daytime host explained: “People are thinking, ‘Yeah she looks nice!’, but you don’t know what I actually really look like!”
The former Loose Woman went on to reveal that she had overhauled her diet – but it wasn’t long before it was sabotaged by a family member.
Andrea continued: “So, I’ve been trying to get really good and then my mum bought round these,” she said while holding up a tin of Cadbury’s Creme Eggs.
“Not only that but she filled them with all kinds of other stuff.”
“You know, it’s lovely and everything but it’s really, really unhelpful”, she quipped.
She signed off the Instagram story saying: “So what I’m thinking is if you eat them all in one day then it doesn’t count.”
Andrea’s confession comes days after she shared a shower selfie while talking about her new move, three months after leaving Loose Women.
The TV star expressed her excitement at taking part in a speaking engagement alongside the likes of Kevin Clifton, James Martin and Emma Barton at Chris Evans’ CarFest later this year.
The small-screen star shared her excitement in another post where she detailed the news.
“Yay! Can’t wait to take to the stage with this lovely lot for this year’s CarFest this Summer! It’s the biggest family fundraising event in the UK and is a ton of fun while supporting children’s charities.”
She added: “Oh… and no, I won’t be singing, just talking.”
After leaving Loose Women in December, following 13 years on the ITV show, Andrea now concentrates on her own business This Girl Is On Fire.
